For us to provide you with your greenhouse throughout cumbria and lancashire you have the choice of cedar wood or aluminium.
We have chosen Alton cedar greenhouses and Elite aluminium greenhouses to work with as we feel these two provide first rate quality and price.
Alton Greenhouses
Alton have been designing and building greenhouses since 1921. Over 80 years of experience goes into the production of a wide range of quality cedar greenhouses. Both professional and keen amateur greenhouse gardeners have been using Alton greenhouses for years, some have passed the greenhouse down from father to child.
If you watch gardening programmes on television, an Alton will often feature as the working greenhouse. Most recently on BBC Gardeners World and on the new channel 4 daily programme 'The Great Gardening Challenge', you will have seen the Alton Amateur Greenhouse featured.
Alton always use the best possible Western Red Cedar in the construction of all their greenhouses as its natural properties are ideal for greenhouses - rot resistance, thermal efficiency and superb looks to enhance any garden setting. In fact Alton guarantee the framework for ten years.
Elite Aluminium Greenhouses
A comprehensive range of high quality aluminium greenhouses and lean-to structures to complement any garden.
Elite greenhouses has been established for over 50 years and is still at the forefront of the domestic greenhouse market, boasting a reputation for quality, value, range and service which you will find hard to match.
All of Elites greenhouses/ lean-to structures are manufactured to withstand the toughest weather conditions. The aluminium gutter(s), built in as standard (except Cold Frame), add additional strength to the existing structure.
Stainless steel clips are standard throughout, eradicating rust, warp and rot fears.
All Elite buildings come with at least one 4ft sq roof vent as standard (except Window Garden).
Purchase advice
Most models have an optional aluminium base which increases the overall height by 5" (125mm) as well as allowing the greenhouse to be fitted directly to any level surface.
Where safety to users/children/pets are of paramount importance, toughened safety glass to BS 6206 Grade A and polycarbonate safety glazing are popular alternatives to standard horticultural glass.
For the adventurous grower, partitions complete with door(s) are available on certain models allowing hot/cold compartments.
All greenhouses must have a base of some description (unless stated) be it timber/aluminium/brick so as to allow the doors(s) to slide in the overhanging bottom track.
Many gardeners find, as their hobby expands, that they outgrow their existing building. For this reason, Elite advises you to purchase the largest greenhouse you have space for. Staging/benching allows the maximum use of available space.
All Elite greenhouses come with a 10-year frame guarantee to offer you complete peace of mind.
